Spirituality Ministries

This category includes organizations that provide opportunities for expanding one's spiritual life.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

The Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord in the Eucharist exposed for a time in a Monstrance on the altar of the Chapel.  Participants sign up for a one hour vigil from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Mondays to pray before the presence of Our Lord.  Participants can pray the rosary, read the Bible, or offer prayers of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving or reparation.  Those who simply sit and let their minds wander for an hour will tell you they are left with a sense of peace.  This is a way to have a truly personal relationship with Jesus and an opportunity to know Him better. For more information contact Jane Waldspurger at 655-2748 or lwalds@yahoo.com.

Annulment Companions Ministry

Annulment Companions are volunteers who have completed courses in this area of Canon Law at the Diocese of St. Augustine.  They are appointed by the parish priest and serve as conduits from the parishioner to the priest and the Tribunal. Their role is a supportive one, helping individuals sort through the confusion and frustration of the annulment process.  By interviewing an individual, the companion is able to ascertain the appropriate steps required.  They provide the paperwork along with instruction on completion of all documents.  When the paperwork and fees are returned to the companion, the request is filed with the Tribunal.  The companion will monitor the progress of the case and will provide feedback as necessary in strictest confidence in an effort to help reconcile the parishioner with their Faith. For more information contact Vicki Kelly at 375-2644 or jkelly3428@aol.com.

RCIA for Children and Teens

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Children and Youth at St. Luke’s Catholic Church is to provide information to children and teens who are 7 years of age to 17 years of age and interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, or those who are interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church. We look to inspire and teach through the Scriptures of the Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church and involvement in our faith community. RCIA for Children and Teens is open to anyone 7 years old to 17 years old who hase not been baptized or was Baptized in another faith or Baptized Catholic and has not received any religous education. For more information contact Danielle Stenli at 422-8513 or rcia4children@clearwire.net.

RCIA for Adults

RCIA is the process where non-Catholics can become Catholic and baptized Catholics can receive the rest of their sacraments.  This is a year round process so there is always a place for someone who is interested.  The RCIA Team is a group of facilitators who lead the meetings and present the teachings of the Church.  There is an Inquiry period where questions can be asked to come to a fuller understanding of how God continues to work in one’s life.  The Catechumenate period is the studying of scriptures and teachings of the church.  Sponsors accompany the individuals through their journey which culminates at the Easter Vigil. For more information contact Pat Noll at 282-3790 or patnoll@comcast.net.

Wedding Coordinator

The wedding coordinator makes sure that the bride and groom have all the documentation that the church requires. She meets with the couple during the time of preparation for the wedding. She serves as a liaison between the couple and Father Andy and relays any necessary information. She plans the date and time for the wedding rehearsal. She opens/closes the church for the rehearsal and guides the family toward the church. She coordinates between the church and the family, following specific instructions and decisions from Father. Wedding coordination is specific to each wedding. On the wedding day, she arrives 30 minutes in advance to coordinate the family walk to the church. She encourages the family to be on time and observes the ceremony. For more information contact our Wedding Coordinator, Apolonia Colon, at 282-1661 or afang23@hotmail.com.
