Diapers and Wipes Drive
Diapers and Wipes Drives are held the entire months of January, June, and October to support two Crisis Pregnancy Centers located in Clay County with donated materials: Emergency Pregnancy Services and First Coast Women’s Services. Respect Life places a Pack and Play in the Gathering Area of the Church for donations.
40 Days for Life
40 Days for Life, which begins Ash Wednesday and continues through Lent, is a national organization promoting peaceful Prayer and Witness events in front of Abortion facilities. 40 Days for Life encourages Parishes and Churches to participate by choosing a day or days for their Parish to Pray and Witness in front of a specified abortion facility. The Diocese of St. Augustine encourages this participation. Respect Life encourages St. Luke parishioners to participate via an ad in the Bulletin and personal contacts.
Rachel’s Vineyard
Rachel’s Vineyard offers a Weekend of Recovery for those who have had an abortion, or who have encouraged another to do so. The Rachel’s Vineyard organization offers opportunities for its program multiple times per year, as the need arises. When St. Luke Respect Life receives the First Names of participants and staff, we email a list to Prayer Warriors to pray for an assigned individual, or individuals, before, during, and after the scheduled Rachel’s Vineyard program. Occasionally, our Parish Pastor requests Respect Life to provide food and services for all meals for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Rachel’s Vineyard program. (St. Luke performed this service for the first time in March 2019).
Respect Life encourages members and Parishioners to pray for Participants and Presenters in Rachel’s Vineyard programs. Contact Bill Higgins for more information.
